March 18, 2020: Editing Children’s Books

What: Editors BC monthly meeting

Cost: Free for Editors BC members, non-members, and students.

Join us at our upcoming monthly meeting for a presentation by Paula Ayer and Tiffany Stone on editing children’s books, including levels from picture books to young adult, and genres from sing-along books to graphic novels and series.

Tiffany Stone has been writing and editing children’s poetry and picture books for almost two decades. She began her editing career at Tradewind Books and now freelances for both traditional publishers and self-publishing clients. She primarily provides substantive editing but occasionally copy edits too.

Award-winning author Paula Ayer spent eight years with Annick Press, where she edited, translated, art-directed, and wrote or co-wrote many award-winning children’s books, specializing in non-fiction for middle readers and teens. Since 2017, she has worked as an editor for Greystone Books, where she edits and acquires both adult and children’s books.

If you would like to attend this meeting and are not an Editors Canada member, email bccoordinator@editors.ca and ask to be added to our non-member distribution list. Please note that only those on either our member or non-member distribution list will be allowed admission to the meeting.

No editors’ pub night
There will be no organized pub gathering before this meeting.
