With new content and a pared-down look, we’re refreshing the West Coast Editor site for the benefit of all members in the B.C. branch.
Two new co-editors, Anastasia Koutalianos and Kerry Hall, are co-ordinating the effort, while a number of association members will be writing and proofreading.
The aim is to publish material that’s of interest to editors in a quick and easy-to-read format with a particular eye on professional development. It’s also an opportunity to highlight what our colleagues are working on.
Our line-up of articles through the spring includes new trends, how-to articles, profiles, and book reviews among other topics. We’ve also been considering syndicating content from other blogs to keep up with news in related fields like book publishing and technical communication.
We’ll post about chapter meetings, relevant seminars and upcoming events around the Lower Mainland and beyond as pertinent.
Some favourite sections – like drive-by editing – will continue to appear. Remember to snap a shot or take a screen grab of those errors out in the wild and submit them to us.
We’re also open to suggestions for new items to run on the site, so let us know if there’s other topics that members may be interested in.
It’s great to see so many members interested in the blog and we look forward to seeing it develop!
